Contact have this great resource to help you understand more about Learning Disabilities and the GP register.

It explains the benefits of being on the register:

- free annual health checks
- identification of parent / sibling carers
- improved transition to adult services

It also covers the criteria and what happens during a check.

Get your child registered so that when they turn 14 they receive annual health check invitations from the GP.

We are happy to present a wonderful charity that has been campaigning for the rights of the Cerebral Palsy community since 2013.

Action CP is a campaigning organisation fighting for political change to enable a better future for children with CP.

Today, we interviewed Amanda, the founder of Action CP, in our Facebook Live session! Some useful advice from Amanda:

- early intervention is key: make sure you track developmental milestones and reach out for help as soon as you see any deviations

- once you have the diagnosis, build a habit of planning ahead: e.g. start thinking about nurseries & EHCP early on

- don't be afraid to talk to others about your child's condition: don't stigmatize CP & share your feelings even with those who don't have similar experiences
